Bellway set for Liverpool rebuilding

HOUSEBUILDER Bellway will announce this week that it has won a massive contract to revamp a rundown part of Liverpool ahead of the city becoming European Capital of Culture in 2008.

The group has taken a slice of a £400m city council regeneration project to rebuild up to 75,000 dilapidated homes.

The announcement is expected to coincide with Bellway's interim results, which are forecast to show a 20% rise in profits to nearly £70m.
