Bard news for Shakespears fans at Regent's Park theatre

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre has announced for the first time it will not stage a full Shakespeare play next year.

There are normally two plays by the Bard per season but next year it is to show musicals John Gay's Beggar's Opera and Crazy for You by Ira Gershwin instead.

The only Shakespeare play scheduled for 2011 is a children's "re-imagining" of Pericles.
