Award gives Cassandre bright future

12 April 2012

Cassandre Joseph's hopes of an acting career came a stage closer when she received The Patricia Rothermere Award at yesterday's Evening Standard Theatre Awards.

The 19-year-old from Langley, near Slough, received the biennial prize, which will mean that her drama school tuition fees are paid in full.

Miss Joseph said: "The award will make all the difference, otherwise I would never have been able to afford drama school."

Kate Ashcroft, executive director of the Oxford School of Drama which nominated Miss Joseph for the award, said: "Cassie has many strengths, including a huge passion for acting.

"The Patricia Rothermere Award has given her the best possible start."
