Asda to sell diamond rings

13 April 2012

Supermarket chain Asda said today it will begin selling a diamond ring with a price tag of almost £780.

The ring is one of four in a new range which comes with a certificate confirming the cut, clarity, colour and weight of the stone.

Asda has 160 in-store jewellery departments which already sell uncertified diamond rings ranging in price from £20 to £499.

The certified rings will initially go on sale in four stores from next month.

David Miles, speciality director at Asda, said: "Customers have been asking for 'top end' diamond rings."
