Art medium asks: Can Vincent Van Gogh 'ear us?

Psychic mediums are to channel the spirits of famous artists at this year's Frieze Art Fair.

Five psychics are to attempt to make contact with artists including Vincent Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, Leonardo da Vinci, Frida Kahlo and Marcel Duchamp.

A trial session where a medium spoke to Salvador Dali was declared "quite mad" by organisers. After exhorting the medium to "believe in your art", Dali was claimed to have demanded to know why they were talking to him and declared himself too important for such matters.

About 250 people will get the chance to watch as US artist Jeffrey Vallance moderates the panel discussion, working with arts writer Brian Dilon. The audience will get the chance to pose their own questions to the dead artists at the end.

Curator Sarah McCrory said the idea was to speak to artists about the role of art in the after-life.

The Frieze Art Fair runs in Regent's Park from October 14-17.
