Angel of Darkness aids ailing Eidos

13 April 2012

COMPUTER games maker Eidos has lifted its profits target after managing to ship more units of its latest Tomb Raider title to Europe than expected just a month ago.

Eidos said all but 500,000 units of Lara Croft's new adventure - Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness - were sent to market before its year-end on 30 June.

The group, which has a twoyear-history of warnings and missed targets, stunned investors last month when it said approval delays for European versions of the game meant one million sales could be lost.

It now believes it will meet original operating profit targets for the year just ended. Analysts had taken forecasts of £13m down to as little as £5m.
