Algerians jailed for Tube fraud

12 April 2012

Two Algerians who were arrested within days of arriving in England by police investigating a £450,000 Tube ticket fraud were jailed for 12 weeks by Horseferry Road Court today.

Yasine Bel Mihoub, 28, and James Millequant, 27, were among 30 people - including 14 Algerians - held this month over the use of cloned credit cards to purchase Travelcards from the automatic ticket machines introduced at Underground stations four months ago.

District Judge Anthony Evans recommended both be deported after serving their sentences.
