The two-year-old said "ciao papa" after the coffins were carried into St Paul's basilica, left. Last week's attack was Italy's worst
tragedy in the Afghan war.

Thousands paid their respects today with Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. The Pope sent a message of "sadness".
