A mug's game as the souvenir sellers act fast

No one acts quicker than a royal souvenir seller in pursuit of a fast buck.

An hour after Charles and Camilla announced they had put back their wedding, the Evening Standard was able to buy on eBay a bar of chocolate with the new, correct date of 9 April embossed on it.

Today more souvenirs were for sale with the new date. Memorabilia hunters can now get their hands on four foam-backed coasters. No buyers, mind you, have yet met the 99p starting price .

Another seller had produced two acrylic coasters by 6pm last

night. Unfortunately, perhaps due to the speed of their production, they celebrate the wedding of "Charles and Camella".

However, souvenirs with the wrong date

are attracting most collectors' attention.

A commemorative mouse mat on eBay yesterday priced ?1.50 had shot up to ?20.50 today while a souvenir mug had increased from ?3 to ?22.
