No new coronavirus cases for West Ham after Carabao Cup chaos

West Ham have recorded no new positive coronavirus cases after David Moyes and two players contracted the disease, assistant manager Alan Irvine has confirmed.

Moyes, Issa Diop and Josh Cullen all received news of their positive tests just 70 minutes before their Carabao Cup game against Hull City kicked off earlier this week.

The two players, who were set to start, and the manager were all placed in isolation rooms before being sent home.

The rest of the squad were promptly tested the next day, and Irvine - who will take Moyes' place on the touchline against Wolves on Sunday - has confirmed he has no new cases to deal with.

"Everybody has been training which is great," said Irvine. "Obviously we have lost a couple of players with the coronavirus situation, and we didn’t want to lose any more at this stage so [we're] delighted that we will have everyone else available."

Moyes, who is feeling well, will be absent for both Sunday's game against Wolves and next Wednesday's Carabao Cup trip to former club Everton. But Irvine has confirmed he will still be in charge of all decision-making around and during the games.

"I have spoken to him several times this morning and he’s not feeling any symptoms," said Irvine. "Obviously it is frustrating but yes, he’s fine.

"David will be the manager and everything that we do will be run through him first of all. He will make the decisions on everything that he would do if he was here. Nothing has changed as far as that is concerned. I am just the messenger."
