Katie Price has described her old home as “cursed” after the West Sussex mansion caught fire.

The 42-year-old, who moved out of the £2 million property in June after four years, was reportedly left “horrified” when she heard about the blaze.

The side of the 11-bedroom pile was thought to have caught fire when a caretaker built a bonfire in close proximity.

Neighbours called out the emergency services and any damage has since been cleared up.

“Katie was horrified when she was called about the fire - apparently the caretaker built a huge fire right next to the house, and when it went up the side of the house was covered in flames,” an insider explained.

“It was a huge fire - a neighbour called the fire brigade thinking the house was burning down.”

The source continued to The Sun: “It was put out in the end but you could see the smoke billowing across the road. She says the house is cursed.

"However, she's focused on her new life living with Carl now and there's so many good things going on in her life she's firmly focused on the future.”

An source for Price confirmed to the Evening Standard: “I can confirm there was a fire at Katie’s property, the fire brigade attended after a call was placed reporting it.

“Katie was not on the premises at the time of the event.”

The events come as Price is recovering from breaking both her feet after a freak accident on a summer holiday.

While she has thanked her new boyfriend Carl Woods for staying by her side during the difficult time, Price has also revealed that it may take another six months to fully recover from her injuries.
