Harlequins hope to hold a further test event for the return of fans at rugby matches if Saturday’s game against Bath proves to be a success.

Quins have been selected to act as a pilot for rugby, with around 3,500 supporters present for the clash at The Stoop.

Strict measures over social distancing are in place, with fans given set times to arrive at the ground.

Harlequins chief executive Laurie Dalrymple is confident the game will be a success.

He said: “We want to be in a position where we can deliver another test event as quickly as possible.

“We have still got two more home games — albeit the London Irish one is their home game, but it is a game that’s at The Stoop.

“But we have got Wasps still at home before the end of the season that we would like to put ourselves into position to run a similar event at.

“We have got to get through tomorrow first, but I have got huge amount of faith in the work done.”
