The north London house from Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes’s hit Channel 4 sitcom Spaced is on the market.

The Tufnell Park house appeared in the hit British comedy as 23 Meteor Street, where Tim, played by Pegg and Hynes’ character, Daisy, shared a flat.

In the programme, which aired between 1999 and 2001, the twenty-something pair rent a two-bedroom apartment in eccentric landlady Marsha’s house for just £90 a week.

Although strangers to each other, they pretend to be a “professional couple” to fit the tenant requirements, leading to two series’ worth of comic misunderstandings.

Any Spaced fans hoping to move to the iconic property will need deeper pockets than Tim and Daisy as the entire nine-bedroom house is on the market for £4 million.

Buyers will also need a high tolerance for visiting comedy fans who still make pilgrimages to the house, 17 years after the show last aired.

“People come to visit from all over the world,” Absolutely Fabulous costume designer Chris Winter, who is selling the house after 25 years, told the Ham & High. “They often say that they were choosing a holiday destination and they picked London so that they could visit the Spaced house.”

The interiors of Tim and Daisy’s flat were filmed in a studio but the rest of the programme, directed by Edgar Wright, was filmed on location in the house with the interiors and colour scheme left unchanged.

An episode of Black Books was also filmed in the Carleton Road property.

Winter also rented out a self-contained two-bedroom flat in the property, for the rather higher sum of £460-a-week last time it was on the market in 2015, reflecting London’s increasing housing costs and the higher standard of the flat than the fictional Spaced property.

The distinctive Grade II-listed detached house is full of original mid-Victorian features, including ornately patterned ceilings, fireplaces and sash windows.

There is over 4,000sq ft of living space including nine bedrooms, three bathrooms and two utility rooms, as well as off-street parking and an 80ft mature back garden.
