New homes in Pimlico: Ebury Place's stylish apartments are on the edge of a conservation area

Ebury Place is a new scheme of 47 apartments that boast a buzzing central location

Pimlico shares Belgravia’s architecture but has never been as smart. However, the district has a new-found cachet thanks to fancy housing developments such as Grosvenor Waterside and the 448 luxury homes soon to be at Chelsea Barracks.

In the 18th century Grosvenor Estate’s master builder Thomas Cubitt laid out Pimlico’s handsome terraces, wide streets and squares. For much of the 20th century, the area was rather run-down.

The turnaround started in the Nineties, especially within the Pimlico Grid, a peaceful enclave of traffic-free streets and culs-de-sac.

Ebury Place, a new scheme of 47 apartments, is rising right on the cusp of this conservation area.

The 10-storey block is alongside train tracks into Victoria, but its finely textured stone and aluminium aims to create a stylish new landmark.

Developer Taylor Wimpey is also trumpeting the scheme’s very close proximity to the chichi boutiques and galleries along Pimlico Road. Prices from £699,000.
