Londoners with deep pockets are increasingly choosing to “live in the sky” as a new wave of residential towers with winter gardens and tiered terraces rises above the streets.

The Tower, at One Tower Bridge, is a slender skyscraper where the top four floors form a single property, and the highest level is a roofless glass-walled space with a plunge pool and outdoor kitchen.

Unsurprisingly the price is sky-high too, at £8.5million. Call Berkeley Homes on 020 7871 0011. Spectacular multi-storey penthouses are also being created in some of the capital’s historic buildings.
