The Victorian terrace with space-saving, futuristic style

From the outside, this looks like a regular Victorian terrace home. But inside, a couple of brilliant architects have created a home full of futuristic style features.

Brandishing a long pair of arty, elegant fire tongs that he and wife Jessie designed for their Brackenbury Village home, Torquil McIntosh says: “We don’t much like buying things off the peg.” It’s surely one of the understatements of the year.

The dining table is held up by extreme engineering and sits on the edge of the bright yellow liquid laminate kitchen 
The back of the house had to be completely rebuilt. Torquil and Jessie used the space to create a living room of open-plan modernity
The master bedroom at the top of the house is a white sanctuary
