The charming Suffolk vicarage that was a location for Shakespeare in Love (1998) has found a buyer.

In the period romcom, Joseph Fiennes, playing the Bard, and Gwyneth Paltrow, as his lover and muse Viola, spend the night in a grand four-poster bed which remained in the Grade II-listed home long after filming.

After many happy years owning the house, in the market town of Eye, writer and actor Ian Kelly, who played Hermione Granger’s father in the Harry Potter film franchise, sold the seven-bedroom property, priced at £1.25 million through Savills.

Dating from the 1450s, it has been restored with wood floors, limewashed walls and cosy fireplaces.
