Rambert, currently touring with Ghost Dances, has the most far-reaching touring programme of any British contemporary dance company.

With a purpose built home on London’s South Bank, it is a pioneer of modern dance.

The roots of this powerhouse lie in Belgravia where former Ballet Russes dancer Marie Rambert opened her school in Bedford Gardens, Kensington.

The very house where her first historic lessons took place is for sale with Marsh & Parsons for £4.95 million.

The Grade II-listed freehold property has double height ceilings and a vast entertaining space including an open plan kitchen beneath a library mezzanine and a huge dining area. Beautifully decorated, it retains the elegant air of its ballet days.

Just off Kensington Church Street, with close neighbours, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge at Kensington Palace.
