The latest member of reality TV’s Kardashian clan to reveal their home makeover, supermodel Kendall Jenner has given fans a tour of her boho-chic LA mansion after its year-long renovation.

Jenner’s sister Kim Kardashian West and husband Kanye West showed off the minimalist revamp of their “futuristic monastery” mega mansion in California’s Hidden Hills in the March edition of Architectural Digest.

Now Jenner has allowed the magazine a walk-through at her own redesigned home.

It’s a surprisingly eclectic, Mediterranean-inspired retreat, filled with striking artwork and plenty of cosy textures – think layered rugs and vintage cushions.

Here are six things we love about Jenner’s new-look home:

The practical but super-cool kitchen

In the homes of the super-famous, kitchens always get varying degrees of use depending on the family size, how much home entertaining goes on - and the culinary skills of the star in question.

In Kendall Jenner’s kitchen, copper pans hang from a rectangular rail above a central island with Pierre Jeanneret teak stools dotted around it. The island could work easily as a breakfast bar, or as a welcoming space for friends to sit and chat while you cook.

Against a timeless marble splashback and ceramic white sink, cabinets painted in a striking Benjamin Moore teal complement the warm glow of copper and stained teak.

This luxurious space wouldn’t look out of place in a glossy west London terrace house, yet it has a practical, lived-in feel.

Jenner says her kitchen is the “most used room in the house”, in Architectural Digest’s video on YouTube.

“I never knew that a certain kitchen could make you want to cook so much,” she adds.

The pot filler

Set into the marble splashback above the range cooker, Jenner draws attention to a metallic gold tap on the wall. This is her “pot filler”. Designed to put an end to lugging water-filled pots and pans across the kitchen from sink to hob, we can’t pretend it’s the most essential kitchen fixture – but it is a pretty cool thing to have.

Neither of the other taps in the kitchen is more than two or three paces away, and a common bugbear with pot fillers is that – over time – they can leak on to the cooker. But Jenner’s is a stylish addition, teaming beautifully with the brassy gold taps and handles throughout the room.

Initially hesitant to install one, she hasn’t looked back: “I use it every day because I’m a tea addict. So it’s perfect.”

The Hannah Montana room

Two of the five bedrooms have been transformed into suitably glamorous rooms for the supermodel.

One is a fitting room, which Jenner calls her Hannah Montana room. In this dressing-up room of every woman’s dreams, rails are laden with colour-coded designer clothes. Shoes in every style are lined up beneath.

“This is where I do all my fittings and kind of throw clothes in here, this is where I pack for long trips – or trips at all,” says Jenner, “Even if it is a little bit cluttered in here or a little bit of a mess, I know where everything is.”

The feature sink

The walls in one of the bathrooms had to be restructured in order to support a stone sink that Kendall says weighs around 300lb.

“The guy who did my house basically said the hardest part of the entire house was putting this in,” she says.

The light stone colour and warm atmospheric lighting continue the earthy, rustic feel found throughout the revamped home.

The hidden bar

This enviable nook is tucked away in a corner of the ground-floor living area.

“You always need a good bar,” says Jenner.

Crystalware is on display, framed by dark wood shelves against the backdrop of a sleek marble wall.

A mini gallery wall in the bar area displays fun party snaps, while the drinks bottles set out on the marble sink counter are a refreshingly realistic reminder that no home is ever entirely clutter free.

Homely touches

In the lounge area of the main bedroom, a contemporary Tracey Emin neon sculpture is positioned opposite a pair of 18th-century Italian painted door panels, which Jenner says had a place in every home she lived in while growing up and came from her mother, Kris Jenner.

“When I bought this house, she was like ‘I saved those doors, I think they’ll be perfect for your house’.”

The model sums up: “Little memories all over the house… they go unnoticed… but they mean a lot to me.”
