A Hampshire house once home to Fleetwood Mac founder Mick Fleetwood has been put on the market for £4 million.

The sprawling 10-bedroom property in Headley goes by the name of Benifold, sits on seven acres of gardens and boasts 10,000 sq ft of living space. It also features both a tennis court and swimming pool with a sauna-equipped pool house.

It was purchased by Fleetwood in 1970, who lived there in the early 70s with his first wife Jenny Boyd. At the time, Boyd was the sister-in-law of Beatles member George Harrison.

Benifold even gets a mention in Fleetwood’s 2015 autobiography Play On, in which he recalls living at the property while recording four of the Fleetwood Mac’s early albums, before relocating to California.

It was at this point that Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham joined the band, and Fleetwood Mac went on to find global success.

More recently, the current incumbents have spent the last two decades renovating the property, including the addition of several new bathrooms.

The house also includes a mix of formal and informal reception rooms – ranging from a play room to a drawing room – as well as a snooker room, wine room, wood store, boot room and a second floor annexe with its own bathroom and kitchen area.
