The Surrey Tavern

10 April 2012

Many will lament the demise of the Firkin pubs, the one-time brew pubs for the young at heart. Now that the chain has been sold on, Bass have their hands on this branch, which means the traditional Firkin brews have been replaced by Adnam's and Bass ale. However, much of the original Firkin style is still intact: bare floorboards, large-screen TVs, staple foods of gammon and eggs (£5.45), Cumberland sausage and mash (£4.75) and fish and chips (£4.75). And there's the whole Common to play with if the action gets too hot in the pub.
