Supper Tub: hot tub supper club comes to Hackney Wick
London’s latest summer pop-up will serve pisco sours and ceviche to guests sitting in canalside wooden hot tubs – it could be the most Hackney Wick thing ever.
Supper Tub (see what they did there) will launch on June 26 and run every Thursday - Sunday for a month.
Those who fancy a dip with their dinner can buy tickets for £45 a pop, which entitles them to two hours in a tub, along with an iced pisco sour cocktail and a small three-course meal of Peruvian-influenced skewers.
A sample menu starts with seabass, king prawn and avocado ceviche followed by marinated steak, halloumi and mango with lime dressing and sweet potato before rounding off with chocolate and physalis brownies with cream made from the exotic fruit lucuma.
Tubs seat six to eight and you can choose to either book one out or just take a couple of spaces for you and a pal. There are both afternoon and evening slots available, with the latest sessions starting at 9pm. There are showers on site and towels can be hired (£4 in advance, £5 on the day).
All this will take place by the canal at Hackney Wick, close to the Olympic Park and right next to Number 90 Bar & Kitchen, which will be providing ‘tub service’ for extra drinks.
Just a word of advice – try not to drop a skewer in your tub. Your fellow tubsters might get a little spiky if you do.
