Officina 00: Hit pasta restaurant announces new Fitzrovia opening
Launching on November 15, pasta will still be made in-house daily, but the menu will expand to include other dishes inspired by Naples, the Italian hometown of founders Enzo Mirto and Elia Sebregondi.
Starters will range from sourdough bread with truffle parmigiano butter, and baccala mantecato with chickpea schiacciata, tomato chutney and beetroot, to king oyster mushroom, caprino, crostini and young sunflower. Mains, meanwhile, will feature the likes of spicy octopus with crispy saffron rice, and confit tomato tartare with burrata, caperberries and rocket.
Among the pasta offerings will be sweetcorn ravioli with girolles, pea shoots and parmesan; ink raviolo bergese (oversized ravioli) with egg yolk, crab, turmeric butter and mizuna; anolini with smoked shiitake broth, soy and confit garlic butter; and casarecce with red and yellow datterino, black olives, capers, chilli and parsley.
A small selection of Italian desserts, including tiramisu, and house cocktails such as Negronis, limoncello martinis and cold-brew espresso martinis will round off the menu.
“We couldn’t be more excited for the opening of Fitzrovia, and to introduce a new menu to this part of London,” said Mirto. “This restaurant represents the next stage in our journey of bringing proper Italian cooking to the capital.
“While we have some delicious new dishes on the menu, our signature pastas will still be a big part of our identity — made using a special grade of flour exclusive to us. It’s more workable, retains more nutrients, has an earthier taste and is better for the environment. We can’t wait for our guests to try it.”
The original Officina 00 opened on Old Street in 2019 and has since become one of the capital’s best Italian restaurants, earning itself a place on our list of the capital’s best pasta spots.
