New Diamond is a gem

Perhaps it should now be called 'The Newer Than New Diamond'. It sends a frisson of fear down the spines of any habitual late-night diner to walk past what has always been a frankly seedy restaurant, and see that it is now smarter, posher, keener and cleaner.

But so far so good, and the recent revamp doesn't seem to have spoilt this old favourite - doubtless it will still be full of chefs who pile in for simple grub after their post-shift liquid refreshment.
