A nightly gastronomic “feast of the senses” set against the backdrop of one of the capital’s most beautiful parks will be the centrepiece of London Food Month, the Standard can reveal today.

Dozens of street food stalls representing the full diversity of London’s thriving culinary scene will be set up in Perks Field, near Kensington Gardens, for the London Food Month Night Market, running from June 7 to 18.

About 40 vendors will create an island of theatrical foodie drama in the tranquil west London setting.

Grace Dent, creative director of London Food Month, said: “Night Market is a genuinely different London experience: an extraordinary feast of the senses. There will be food from all over the planet, some huge names, some small unique names we want you to discover, all reflecting London’s diversity and its position as an unparalleled food destination.

“There will be world-class cocktails, music and art in a beautiful and intriguing setting. It’s a place to gather with friends and family for a summer’s night of feasting and fun.”

Tickets for the market go on sale tomorrow. It will be open from 5pm to 10.30pm Monday to Thursday and 5pm to 11pm on Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays there will also be a session from 11am to 4pm. The market will reopen from 5pm until 11pm on Saturday, and until 10.30pm on Sunday.

There will be 10,000 tickets on sale for each session and £1 of every ticket sold will go to the Felix Project.

Bars will be provided by drinks company Cobra Beer and Diageo, showcasing brands including Ketel One Vodka and Bulleit Bourbon. There will be “busker-style” acoustic entertainment and an open-air cinema provided by Westfield showing films including Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Westfield’s chief marketing officer, Myf Ryan, said: “We are really excited to take the Westfield experience on the road as we pop up at LFM Night Market where visitors will enjoy their favourite film while enjoying guest chef appearances and acoustic performances.”

David Carter, founder of Shoreditch barbecue restaurant Smokestak, will transport a smoker to the market on a trailer to create “a small version of the restaurant”. It will sell a limited menu of three or four dishes, likely to include a brisket bun, 30-day dry-aged beef rib and thick-cut pork ribs.

Martin Morales, founder of Ceviche restaurants, is taking a double pitch at the market and will showcase dishes from his Peruvian Andina cookbook celebrating superfoods from the Andes. He said: “This will be a fantastic opportunity for us to really innovate and offer something really out there and really one-off.” Other confirmed vendors include burger specialists Patty&Bun.
