Le Pont de La Tour launches pop-up cheese room with private fondue waiter

Winter dinners don’t get more warming than a pot of fondue – and now restaurant Le Pont de la Tour has set up a whole private dining room dedicated to the cheesiest of all meals.

Alongside un-brie-lievable views of Tower Bridge, a new pop-up cheese room will host a three-course meal that promises to be the ultimate experience for London’s fromage fans.

Until January 25, a chalet-inspired hut will be the venue for the specially designed meal, which features a starter of Fourme d’Ambert – one of France’s oldest cheeses – served with chicory velouté, red port shallots and a glass of champagne.

The main event will take the form of a decadent fondue, made with a mix of emmental, gruyere and white wine. Dinner is then rounded off by a suitable gooey chocolate fondant. No cheese board, in case you were wondering.

Diners will also be attended to throughout the evening with their own private fondue waiter, who will guide them through the meal.

Up to four people can book the riverside bolthole situated on the restaurant’s terrace, with three courses, the glass of Moët & Chandon champagne, and half a bottle of house red wine costing £50 per person.
