Five things Fay Maschler ate this week

From celeriac rice to Chelsea Arts Club's ham hock terrine
Root effect: Celeriac rice available from supermarkets

1. Watching brothers Martin and Christoph Lange cooking at Islington’s Salut! reminds me of my sister Beth and me nimbly skirting around each other in the kitchen. Pressed octopus, cannellini crème and squid ink tuile makes me determined to return.

2. I usually love Andrew Edmunds, but saying ox tongue, chips and ketchup is the best of what I try is not saying a lot.

3. A new (to me) supermarket product is “nutty and creamy celeriac rice”, pictured above. I pimp it up with milaga podi (ground spices) from Hoppers restaurant.

4. Sunday lunch at Lima Fitzrovia with my stepdaughter Amy and family back from Peru. So lovely to see them — tuna Nikkei so beautiful and delicious to eat.

5. At Chelsea Arts Club after a concert by Kate Dimbleby, dinner starts with ham hock terrine and caramelised onion jam — that accompaniment an apt description of Kate’s amazing voice.
