Popular burger chain Five Guys is set to open its hundredth British branch this month, and is marking the occasion with a mass giveaway.

The diner-inspired group, which first opened in the UK six years ago in Covent Garden, is opening its newest outpost in St Paul’s next Monday, and will gift a free meal to anyone who shows up.

Londoners who arrive between 8-10.30am will be able to pick up a complimentary breakfast sandwich with coffee and orange juice, or a free burger with any topping, fries, and a soft drink.

From 10.30am, the breakfast sandwiches will be taken off the menu, but the burger giveaway will continue until 11pm, with Five Guys saying they will feed as many people as they can until then.

Come a long way: the first ever Five Guys, which opened in Arlington County, Virginia, in 1986

The company’s European CEO, John Eckbert, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support Five Guys has received from the British public over the last six years.

“We have lots to thank our fans for. So, what better way to do this than to invite them to share a freshly made burger with us at our 100th store?”
