Popular choice: tarragon gnocchi with rabbit ragu at Bernardi’s

1. Not feeling tip-top on Monday, my sweet sister Beth, who cooks with consummate skill, makes chicken with tarragon sauce, a combination prescribed by nature.

2. At new neighbourhood restaurant Bernardi’s, you know love for your companion is well placed when you both order the same — tarragon gnocchi with rabbit ragu.

3. After Harper’s Bazaar Art (Reg contributed) & Bentley Party at Chiltern Firehouse, an overcooked oafish beefburger at Daylesford Café on Blandford Street.

4. The profound zaniness of the movie The Lobster was followed by the dull predictability of the pheasant I roasted at home.

5. Laughing until weak at the knees makes Brasserie Zedel opposite the only choice after Kit & McConnel cabaret at The Crazy Coqs. “Formule” — £19.75 for three courses and drinks — starts with celeriac remoulade. Book right now for their next engagement: Sunday November 29.
