After four months of hardly leaving the house, we don’t blame you for losing your bearings.

To help foodies get back on track, a new map has been launched to guide users towards their nearest Eat Out to Help Out restaurants.

Mapping software company Esri UK has put together an interactive map which displays all the restaurants in the UK offering the government’s 50 per cent discount deal.

"With over 72,000 establishments taking part, an interactive map is the best way to find out which places are participating nearby," said Sam Bark, cartographer at Esri UK.

"Users simply search from any address, or their current location, to see where they can take advantage of the offer. Handy for finding somewhere in your neighbourhood or if you're going off on your staycation."

The map displays the locations of all the food establishments signed up to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme within a one to 10 mile radius of the user’s current location or chosen postcode. The map will also be updated with any restaurants which join the scheme in the coming weeks. It can be accessed via the Esri UK website, or used below.

The government currently operates an online postcode-checker system which shows users a list of participating restaurants closest to the location entered.

More than 10 million meals were discounted using the Eat Out to Help Out scheme within the first week of August. The government’s offer allows restaurants to discount 50 per cent from food and soft drink sales on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in August, up to the value of £10 per person.
