The best new restaurants opening in London this week

Earl’s Court now has a wholesome new Italian trattoria just a stone’s throw from the underground station. Relaxed, modern and understated, pop in to A Braccetto for a spritz and a snack, or settle in for thin, crisp slices of pizza Romana, approachable freshly-made pasta and a must-try tiramisu.

Founded by the team behind the Oystermen in Covent Garden, this new spot just a few streets away promises looks as though it’ll be just as good. Headed up by ex-Hearth chef Grant Clark, and inspired by Manhattan and Parisian-style brasseries, expect bare back walls and comforting yet innovative fare crafted with seasonal British produce. Don’t miss the delectable house burger with raclette and dijon mayonnaise.

Craving a touch of the old-school? Enter: The Cocochine, where they don’t turn tables and you have to call to book. Based in a historic mews house and headed up by former head chef of Petrus, Larry Jayasekara, here you’ll find fine, à la carte fare and a very good wine list.

Guirong Wei of Master Wei and Xi’an Impression is now dishing up more delights from China’s Shaanxi province. Make haste here for the hand-pulled noodles, stay a while for the delicate Xi’an Empress Dumplings.
