Avocado sorbet is returning to London in time for the heatwave

Ailis Brennan16 April 2018

The culinary embodiment of millennial cool is returning to London this week – and just in time for the heatwave.

Ice cream supremo Gelupo has announced that it will be serving up avocado sorbet, helping Londoners keep cool through the twenty-something temperatures that are set to hit the capital this week.

The Soho store will be serving the dish from tomorrow until the end of May, with prices starting at £3 per portion.

The refreshing treat will be joined by a new springtime roster of florally flavoured ice creams and sorbets, with quirky new options including a custard, lemon cake and hibiscus ice cream, a piquant strawberry and rose pepper sorbet, and an earthy chocolate, tomato and basil sorbet.

The avocado sorbet has crept up on menus around the capital before, but this is the first time it will feature at Gelupo, the highly acclaimed gelato shop set up by Jacob Kenedy and Victor Hugo of Bocca di Lupo fame.
