Molly Parkin presents her new exhibition “A life in colour”

Thomas Triebel3 September 2017

The 85-year-old artist came back to painting after a 25-year gap.

Molly Parkin is embracing painting again since rediscovering her love and creative flair after a 25-year gap. Awarded a Civil List Pension by the Queen for her services to the arts, her work has been recognised and exhibited in London and overseas.

The exhibition will comprise work of limited edition prints never previously shown to the public and a new body of paintings Mrs. Parkin has been working on over the last couple of years.

Molly Parkin was one of Andy Warhol's contemporaries in New York City and formed part of the 'swinging 60s' London movement.

"I'm excited to have this exhibition. I want to open art up and make it affordable for younger people. Opening it to the public is not only a way of spreading the word but I hope everybody leaves with joy in their hearts and a sense of exhilaration”, Mrs. Parkin said.

She added: “I'd like everyone to know what it feels like to be 85 and full of joy and creativity.”

The exhibition will be running from September 2nd to 28th at the 508 Kings Road Gallery.
