After rolling out their classic biscuit in a thinner, more sophisticated range earlier this year, Oreo has turned its attention to a new venture: Oreo churros.

Churros, the sweet Spanish snack consisting of a strip of fried dough dusted with sugar, has been paired with the traditional Oreo flavour we all know and love to meet the growing demands of consumers seeking a 'grab and go' snack experience.

Its maker J&J Snack Foods Corp announced this week that shoppers in the US can now purchase Oreo Churros in the frozen aisle of supermarkets.

The latest incarnation of everyone’s favourite cookie consists of a chocolate-churro shell, with a crumb sugar topping.

Each stick is 10 inches long, is filled with that classic Oreo cream we've come to love in biscuit form.

But if the sight of the sugary sticks has you cursing your strict diet plan, health conscious Oreo-lovers amongst us will be pleased to know that the churros are also available in bite size form.

Best of all? Their shape means they’re easier to dunk and twist in a cold glass of milk than their original counterparts.

There's no word yet as to when the new iteration of Oreos will reach the UK - but let's hope its soon.
