It's a corker... the taste of the Irish

Delicious: Try the range of cheese from Sheridan's in Dublin
Melanie McDonagh12 April 2012

The one bit of the Irish economy that's doing just fine, thank you, is food production and the Delicious Ireland promotion at Selfridges Food Hall shows why.

There are fifty Irish artisan producers to show off a range of products, trad and new, from hot smoked salmon to a new Irish take on maple syrup... orchard syrup.

Check out the country butters from Ballymore Farm and Cuinneog - it does taste different, McCarthy's black pudding, the traditional Spiced Beef from Tom Durkan at Cork's English Market (the Queen had it) and the excellent range of Irish cheese from Sheridan's cheesemonger's in Dublin. There are also cookery demonstrations, including a Titanic themed menu by Niall McKenna on April 14 and 15 and London's own Richard Corrigan on April 24.

If you can, try to get to the wonderful Darina Allen, of the Ballymaloe Cookery School and authority on Irish traditional cookery, on April 18.

For three weeks until 29 April, from now. style.selfridges.com
