How to... make an autumnal apple & pear vodka cocktail

Jen Stebbing4 October 2015

Freshly made lemonade from scratch is something of an art form, getting the perfect balance of sour and sweet is essential and sometimes difficult. Matthew Dakers, mixologist, has created a seasonal variety for the Autumn featuring a russet-coloured combo of apples, pears and a naturally flavoured honey vodka.

Muddling (or crushing) the fresh pear in the key to bringing out the flavour. Another top tip is to roll the lemon before cutting it, this releases the juices meaning you get more from your lemon.

Apples and Pears Lemonade recipe:

Muddle 1/4 of a fresh pear

25ml fresh apple juice

25ml lemon juice (1/2 lemon)

3 teaspoons of sugar

50ml Stoli Sticki Vodka

Shake and fine strain over cubed ice, top with sparkling water and garnish with a pear fan.
