We taste-tested Creme Egg Mayo - here's our verdict

You'll either love it or hate it

There are some foods, like coriander and sushi, that you'll either love or hate - and we can now add Creme Egg Mayonnaise to that list.

The nauseating combination is the brainchild of Heinz and Cadbury - who have come together to combine two British staples: Heinz' [Seriously] Good Mayonnaise and Cadbury's Creme Egg.

Described as a 'scrumptious sweet spread made with rich, creamy and smooth Heinz [Seriously] Good Mayonnaise, chunks of delicious Cadbury chocolate and the glorious gooeyness of Cadbury Creme Egg', the spread contains egg, milk and ... mustard, and is not suitable for vegans.

Initially passed off as an April Fool's joke, the teams behind the concoction have revealed that the spread will be available to try at a pop-up installation at the Truman Brewery in London's Shoreditch next week from April 11 to 13.

Before the Creme Egg Mayo is available to the public, we decided to take one for the team and taste test it ourselves - and, as you can see in the video above, our reactions are very mixed.

While Mars, our head of video production, loved the spread so much she was going to take it home to make a cheesecake out of it, I couldn't quite get past the texture of the spread.

While you won't know if you like it until you try it for yourself next week, our majority verdict was that some things are best enjoyed how they were originally intended - separately.
