Food-related posts are set to vastly outnumber those of loved ones this Valentine’s Day, which will see even the smuggest of couples tempted to swap bae for baking in their online activity.

Only eight per cent of the nation is planning to post an image of their own Romeo or Juliet, while one fifth are likely to upload a foodie snap. Great news if you’re planning a pizza for one or, even better, an entire supermarket Valentine’s meal deal to yourself.

The food frenzy coming to a news feed near you comes as little surprise, given that almost half of Brits name something food-related as their favourite way to spend time with their partner.

A study by Co-op also revealed that the most popular pastimes for lovers include breakfast in bed, cooking up a storm at home or going out for a meal.

The study of 2,000 Brits also suggests that most couples are likely to celebrate V-Day by cooking at home rather than venturing out.
