Church presents

Corsica Studios, Fri Jun 21

Promoters Church bring underground house heavy hitter Boddika to intimate south London venue Corsica Studios to showcase his raw, dark sound. Borrowing from hip-hop, techno and even machine music, the Nonplus record boss is a master of crafting a deep, ominous beat. Support comes from Sei A and October.

XOYO, Fri Jun 21

It’s all getting a little bit urban at XOYO tonight – former Streets frontman Mike Skinner gets behind the decks to spin hip hop and drum ‘n’ bass, while support comes from influential 2Step producer-turned-house man MJ Cole and garage songstress Ms Dynamite (ee-ee). Get your skank face ready.

The Hacienda

Coronet Theatre, Fri Jun 21

The best of the north comes down south this weekend to save us the train fare. Legendary Madchester club The Hacienda celebrates what would have been its thirtieth birthday with a special one-off event at Elephant & Castle’s Coronet Theatre. As you’d expect the line-up is blockbuster - Joy Division & New Order's Peter Hook brings his group The Light to perform classics from his back catalogue, and landmark electronic outfit 808 State perform a rare live date. There's also plenty of DJs on the bill who helped shape the club, including Graeme Park and Jon Da Silva.
