London club venue Printworks is at risk of losing its hugely popular dance music events, following developments with the club’s promoters.

The 5,000-capacity clubbing space in Canada Water has established itself as one of the most significant venues in the city since opening in 2016, but all that could be about to change.

One of the venue’s co-runners London Warehouse Events are ceasing operations with Printworks in 2018, putting future dance music events at risk.

“LWE have announced they will no longer be holding events or operating the venue and will instead be moving on to new projects in 2018,” the promoters said in a statement.

It’s potentially bad news for the city’s nightlife, and it’ll be a challenge for the venue to maintain their reputation for great dance music club nights next year.

However, the venue “will continue to throw their own events throughout 2018.”

In a statement released to the Evening Standard, Printworks organisers Broadwick Live said: "Printworks London will continue to produce some of the best events in London & UK throughout 2017/18 and beyond, continuing to work with a range of promoters, producers and brands, and are incredibly excited to reveal future plans in the coming weeks."

Meanwhile, Mayor Sadiq Khan has promised to protect the city’s live music venues and pubs with new regulations put forward as part of the Draft of London plan.
