Badgerfest

Passing Clouds, Fri May 17

Secret Garden Party's woodland crew The Artful Badger returns to Haggerston’s Passing Clouds for their annual spring weekend party. Performance troupes and dancers mingle with DJs, and there'll be games, sweets and treats in this converted terrace house. As always the dress code is animals – badgers encouraged but not mandatory.

Passing Clouds, 1 Richmond Rd, E8 4AA. 8pm-5am. £8. facebook.com/artfulbadgeruk.

XOYO, Fri May 17

German techno-electro superstar Boys Noize comes to XOYO tonight courtesy of Bugged Out! Noize aka Alex Ridha has been DJing for over a decade and has more bangers in his record collection than a Sainsbury’s sausage aisle. Prepare your fists to be pumped.

XOYO, 32-37 Cowper St, EC2A 4AP. 9pm-3am. £13.50. xoyo.co.uk.

Alt-J Afterparty

Brixton Jamm, Fri May 17

A collection of dance music oddballs take the stage for the afterparty of Alt-J’s Brixton Academy gig. Berlin based Fantastic Mr Fox leads the bill, with his experimental, genre-bending musical tapestries that have seen him tour with The xx and gain support from James Blake. Joining him is My Panda Shall Fly, a newcomer whose music sounds like the soundtrack to a Japanese videogame. Thom from Alt-J will also be getting behind the decks to round off the line-up.

Brixton Jamm, 261 Brixton Rd, SW9 6LH. 7pm-4am. £10. brixtonjamm.org.

Smirnoff Slumberfest

Proud, Fri May 17

Vodka merchants Smirnoff take over Camden’s Proud for an “all-night interactive club experience”. What does that mean? They’re hosting six parties across the country simultaneously, but the fun part is, THEY’RE PUTTING A GIANT BED ON THE DANCEFLOOR. Bounce away to your heart’s content – or take a nap – as grime stars JME & Big Narstie take the stage along with a swathe of special guest DJs.

Proud, The Horse Hospital, The Stables Market, Chalk Farm Rd, NW1 8AH. 7pm-2.30am. £10. proudcamden.com.

Saturday

Fire, Sat May 18

Regular party Siesta returns for summer 2013, kicking off proceeding at Vauxhall’s 2,000 capacity venue Fire. Tech-house spinner and Crosstown Rebels signee Clive Henry and Hot Creation’s Mark Jenkyns are the two to watch during this massive 12-hour party. Things kick off in the late afternoon with a jacuzzi and BBQ on the terrace – expect a messy one.

Fire, South Lambeth Rd, SW8 1UQ. 4pm-4am.£12.50. facebook.com/SiestaEvents.

Zoo Party

Coronet Theatre, Sat May 18

Another animal fancy dress party – they’re like bloody buses – Zoo Party will transform Elephant & Castle’s Coronet Theatre into a, er, zoo. Three rooms will be covering house, disco and garage to get jungle passions flaring and there will also be a BBQ, face paint, balloons and more.

Coronet Theatre, 28 New Kent Rd, SE1 6TJ. 4pm-6am. £20. facebook.com/UkZooParty.

Sunday

Oval Space, Sun May 19

It’s summer! Well, almost. In anticipation, Bethnal Green’s Oval Space is opening up its terrace for a series of events showcasing the best music from independent record labels. For the first instalment, London-based Freerange Records takes over for the official launch of label founder Jimpster's upcoming LP, Porchlight & Rockingchairs. The indie-house label has been putting out records for over 15 years, so expect a high calibre spread of sounds.

Oval Space, 29-32 The Oval, E2 9DY. 1pm-9pm. £15. facebook.com/OvalSpace.
