Trouble Vision Summer Showdown

Corsica Studios, Fri Jun 7

Elephant & Castle regular Trouble Vision returns to Corsica Studios for its annual summer showdown, enlisting a host of underground house and techno heavyweights to push the venue’s Funktion One speakers to the limit. Soul-influenced deep house masters Ame headline the night, while fellow hardhitters Gerd Janson, Pional and Mark E are also on the bill.

Playground Festival

Brixton Academy, Jun 7-9

If you like electronic music, Playground Festival is guaranteed to excite. Covering every gamut of the genre, this festival brings together luminaries and innovators, as well as up and comers and underground stars. Across the three days Brixton Academy will play host to electronic music architects Gary Numan, Squarepusher, Leftfield, Digitalism and Juan Atkins, as well as rising stars such as Deadboy and Lapalux.

Cocoon

Iconic Ibiza club night Cocoon comes to London this weekend courtesy of Jose Cuervo tequila. Dark techno warrior Sven Vath has picked the line-up here, bringing Cocoon regular and techno-lover Frank Lorber along, as well as deep house spinner Christian Burkhardt, and Ilario Alicante, an Italian with a Latin American take on house and techno. An essential party for those who can’t make it to the white isle this summer – or for those who just can’t wait to get out there.

Late at the Tate

What’s this? Electronic music at Tate Britain? There must be some mistake! As part of a drive to attract a younger audience, Tate Britain, home to the man-on-a-horse-in-a-field style of painting, hosts a party curated by Farringdon dance mecca Fabric. They’ve chosen Rinse FM DJs Alexander Nut, Josey Rebelle and Lee Gamble, and Fabric resident Craig Richards, who’ll all be getting behind the decks to spin house, techno and bass.

Black Butter Records Third Birthday Party

While you may not know of Black Butter Records, you’ll probably have heard of its artists – Rudimental, Clean Bandit and Gorgon City have all been invading the charts and dominating the airways lately. Black Butter celebrates its third birthday in style by throwing a party at Bethnal Green mainstay Oval Space. Gorgon City and collaborator Yasmin top the bill with support from Kiss FM DJ and UK garage architect DJ EZ.

Promoters Another Party throw their last party before a summer break, enlisting Boston party-starters Soul Clap. Renowned for their soul and disco influenced ‘Efunk’ sound, Soul Clap are dance music masters, having even taught a university course about the genre at Tufts University. Bring your dancing shoes and prepare for a sleazy, funky boogie.

Those nice folks at Apogee have decided to throw a free rooftop party, taking over Brixton Clubhouse’s terrace for the day. Digital Soundboy Boat Party

Label Digital Soundboy teams with promoters BassLaced to kick off summer in style with a drum 'n' bass boat party. Label boss Shy FX heads up proceedings on the Dixie Queen steam boat, with Radio 1 regular B.Traits, dubstep and d'n'b aficionado Breakage, Rinse FM’s Dismantle and UK dance music veteran Zed Bias all taking turns on the wheels. After a four-hour cruise down the Thames, the party continues over at intimate Shoreditch basement space Concrete, with more sets from the Digital Soundboy crew.

Promoters Deep & Dirty return for an epic 12-hour dance music extravaganza at The Scala, enlisting London promotion and DJ duo Krankbrother to get the crowd pumping. There'll be a BBQ running all day to keep revellers fuelled for this dance marathon.
