One of London’s top hotels has launched a new live music series.

The London Edition in Fitzrovia is putting on Songs from Above, which sees new acts perform each Wednesday on the hotel’s balcony, overlooking the lobby bar.

Tomorrow, August 17, sees House Gospel Choir perform. The group reinvent tracks by electronic and dance acts, including Disclosure and Labrinth, in the style of a traditional gospel choir. They recently performed on Radio 1’s Live Lounge and sung on stage alongside John Cage as part of the David Bowie Prom.

Other acts on the bill include ALA.NI and the Deep Throat Choir.

Jazz-influenced ALA.NI, set to perform on August 24, is fresh from the Summer Series at Somerset House, where she supported Mercury Prize winner Benjamin Clementine. Her song Cherry Blossom won her a spot on Later… With Jools Holland last year.

The Edition’s bar is one of London’s most popular drinking spots, in part famous for its stunning main room, where the decor bears influence of New York’s Grand Central Station.

The concerts take place on August 17, 24 and 31 at the London Edition. For more information, visit editionhotels.com
