The Blues Kitchen, Shoreditch: Plenty of beer, bourbon and blues

This is somewhere to come and have a good time, to tuck into a burger or brisket and then get up, booze soaked, and dance until closing

As much as we love to find one-offs and claim them as our own, London is lucky to have its little chains. Whether in Brixton, Camden or Shoreditch, each of the Blues Kitchen sites are all a reliable go-to. Each offer plenty of beer, bourbon and blues. They’re all similar in decor and outlook: these are places to come and have a good time, to tuck into a burger or brisket and then get up, booze soaked, and dance until closing.

All are reasonably priced, and all somehow manage to have friendly, upbeat staff, which is no mean feat in places that get as busy as these do. Camden’s long standing Sunday night jam is a must and the Shoreditch site hosts its fair share of decent gigs. There are no miracles at a Blues Kitchen, but all deliver whenever you’re simply after a good time. That’s an awful lot harder than it sounds.
