The stream of new sites in Mayfair shows no sign of drying up, with new club Nikita and adjoining restaurant Mister Nice both set to open on Davies Street over the next few months.

First will be Nikita, a low-lit, red-lamped style of place with moulded walls, designed to mimic a Haussmann-style flat in Paris. A wine, Champagne and cocktail spot, the club will also serve food cooked by Mayfair neighbour, Le Comptoir Robuchon. On opening come December 9, it will seat 120 and unsurprisingly, is likely to be pricey; founder JP Kley says he is hoping to draw “London's elite” and says he will serve a menu “with an emphasis on exquisite, sustainably sourced caviar”.

In practice, it looks like that means the space will function as somewhere for events in the daytime, before it becomes somewhere to drink and dine until the early hours. Closing time during the week will be 1am; come the weekends, it will stretch to 2am.

Kley, who sold his previous Oxford Street club Beat pre-pandemic, said of his plans: “I have always had a particular draw to private members' clubs, leading me to launch Beat in 2012. I love the sexy and mysterious energy given off by these clubs; a mantra I have always stuck to is, 'if you know, you know and if you don't know, don't worry about it'.

“I will always believe in luxury, exclusivity and the spirit of private members' clubs. With Nikita, I am bringing London a taste of Parisian cool.”

Afterwards will come Mister Nice, a restaurant open to the public, that is set to launch at the beginning of the new year. It will plate up a blend of French and Italian dishes and is set to be something of a classic New York-style dining room.

A “secret passage” will connect the two sites.

Nikita will open on December 9 at 22 Davies Street, W1. Mister Nice will follow in early 2022. For more information, visit nikita-london.com
