London's best bars and mocktail menus for Dry January

Alcohol-free: Ditch the booze this month at these bars
Vitchakorn Koonyosying

Those disavowing the booze this January can rest safe in the knowledge that, in a city famous for its bars, there are plenty of delightful mocktails on offer.

Some of London’s finest bars are offering (figuratively) dry menus for Dry Jan so, if you’re struggling, it’s rather easy to delude yourself with a fake version.

These are some of best to get stuck into — there’s no need to fret about the hangover, after all.

Merchants Tavern

The alcohol-free cocktails here are pious but not boring. Try the fruity Orchard Fizz made with apple, agave, lime, black pepper, cherry, tonic water.

Permit Room at Dishoom

Dishoom’s aptly calling its versions “dry tipples”, stripping classic cocktails of their boozy ingredients. The Sober Martini is a mix of juniper, ginger and gentian root and is served with grape and cucumber waters.

Redemption

Unsurprisingly, guilt-free drinks are on the cards here. Instead of booze, cordials and ferments are the core of many of the signature cocktails here. A "Fitbeer" is also on offer, coming in at just 66 calories a pop.

Skylon

Skylon’s Night Bar menu is filled with boozeless beverages, including a Spiced Ice Tea made with Earl Grey and non-alocholic spirit Seedlip Spiced 94.

Mark’s Bar

This Soho spot has a fresh selection of teetotal tipples, including a Plum Ricky with plum syrup, lime and soda water. This Dry Jan, guests can get creative by swapping the traditional happy hour for the bar’s oyster hour which runs every weekday from 4-7pm with British rock oysters at £1 each.

Sexy Fish

This celebrity hangout has a hefty selection of booze-free drinks to tempt you in this Dry January. It offers a virgin twist on a classic Tiki cocktail with an orange juice and toasted coconut alternative, alongside a vodka-free porn star martini.
