Evening Standard to host next Speakeasy event in 'secret gin garden'

British tastebuds can’t get enough of gin-based drinks, and the next event in the Evening Standard’s Speakeasy series will allow fans of the botanically blessed spirit the chance to explore it in style.

The Secret Gin Garden, an immersive tasting experience, will take place in London on May 8. In typical Speakeasy style, the exact location will remain under wraps until just before the event itself, but it's set to be located in a secret oasis in the centre of the city.

Gin-loving guests will be treated to a welcome drink on arrival, followed by an introductory talk from Evening Standard food and drink columnist Douglas Blyde.

Following on from the American Whiskey Speakeasy that took place in February, the evening will then go on to combine live music and entertainment with gin tasting sessions. These will be accompanied by industry experts and brand ambassadors, as well as food pairings designed to intensify the experience of the drinks. The video below gives an idea of what to expect.

Gin enthusiasts will take part in masterclasses and a Q&A session with experts, and will sample spirits from top producers including Theodore Pictish Gin, Mary-le-bone Gin and One Gin.

Tickets cost £70.99 per person or £130 for two people, and the 150 guests at the intimate event will also receive an exclusive gift to take home with them at the end of the night. They will also have the opportunity to purchase exclusive, high-end gins throughout the evening.
