Enjoy a decent pint at the Bridge House

The Bridge House
10 April 2012

If the phrase real ale style bar sounds like an oxymoron to you, maybe you should come and have a look at the Bridge House as it's probably the best way to describe this Adnam's house on the southern end of Tower Bridge.

There are excellently kept Adnams and guest ales in an interior well in keeping with the converted warehouse flats of the area. Thus, here you can enjoy a decent pint and ponder laying down a deposit on one of the displayed works of art.

Yet, somehow it works: it helps that the food's excellent, unpretentious and well-presented and the landlord is a friendly soul. Even if the racked magazines seem a bit Toni & Guy, the fare on offer is impressive making their four-pint status inevitable - and they've managed to keep standards high.

A good spot for some refreshments whilst walking along the Thames, visiting the Tower or an inspection of the GLA space oddity.
