Doggett’s Coat and Badge review: A riverside pub with fantastic views

A Nicholson's pub in a prime location by Blackfriars bridge
Room with a view: Doggett's Coat and Badge pub by Blackfriars bridge

You’ll struggle to find many pubs with better views of the Thames than Doggett’s Coat and Badge at 1 Blackfriars.

As the address suggests, this Nicholson’s pub is located right next to Blackfriars bridge, and the heavy footfall makes it popular with tourists. The Dogget’s Coat and Badge offers great views over three floors and a terrace, and it’s been known as a great place for admiring the river for decades. It’s also named after the historic boat race of the same name, which is recognised as the oldest in the world.

The pub’s harsh concrete exteriors might divide opinion, but inside you’ll find a great place to take in the stunning views of the river, and enjoy a good selection of ales, wines and spirits in a prime location.
