Evans & Peel Detective Agency - bar review

It's all cloak and dagger at this Earl's Court new speakeasy
Kate Lough27 February 2015

The buzz: a very cloak and dagger speakeasy — Sherlock would approve — hidden behind a plain black door in Earl’s Court.

The deal: every detail is here — the buzzer to get in, the role-play receptionist and a dashing detective. Once you’ve been granted permission to sneak through the bookcase you’ll see a genuine prohibition bar where it could well be the 1920s — and the cocktails are phenomenal.

Good for: locals — Earl’s Court has been crying out for a cool bar for ages — and once word spreads people will travel.

Order: everything on the cocktail list, especially the G–T (their twist on G&T), the A’n’T (like a Mojito) and the Grapefruit Blossom — all served with hot pretzels.

By the way: be sure to make an appointment before you go.
